About the Instructor:
Sinem Özer was born in 1982 in Gemlik, Bursa. After graduating from Dokuz Eylül University with a degree in English Economics, she completed her MSc in Management at the National College of Ireland in Dublin. Following five years of business and educational experience in Ireland with her husband, she returned to Turkey in 2016. With over 10 years of corporate experience in finance and strategy in Turkey and Dublin, she founded the Kius brand in 2019, focusing on olive cultivation and olive oil production.
In November 2024, she participated in ‘The Olive Oil Sommelier Certification’ program at the Olive Oil School of Spain (ESAO) in Valencia, earning the title of Olive Oil Sommelier. Her family’s olive groves, spanning three generations, are located in Umurbey village, Gemlik. For Sinem Özer, olive cultivation has always been a passion that requires continuous learning and exploration.
She shares her knowledge and experience in olive and olive oil through various tasting events, emphasizing the production and consumption of quality olive oil, its importance in gastronomy, and its role in the kitchen, along with tasting tips for olive and olive oil enthusiasts.
